New Yorkers for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (formerly New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that in 2008 expanded its mission after the effective abolition of capital punishment in New York. NYADP supports effective, rational, and humane approaches to the problem of violent crime in a post-death penalty abolition environment. NYADP is on the web at http://www.nyadp.org/
NYADP Journal is the quarterly newsletter and message board of the New Yorkers for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (NYADP) group. The NYADP Journal strives for diversity of thought, opinion and expression in line with its central goals of abolishing the death penalty and reducing violence. NYADP Journal is neither left nor right, religious or nonreligious, exclusively academic nor nonacademic, and welcomes submissions which encompass a spectrum of views.
We are particularly interested in opinion pieces, reviews of research on violence and the death penalty, and book reviews, but also welcome thoughtful articles on moral issues related to crime and violence as well as poetry and art.
